The offices of BradParksBooks.com were filled with printed materials.

Placards. Posters. Mailers. Brochures. Yard signs. Buttons.

All of them featured strategic deployments of the colors red, white, and blue; and they all contained the same slogan:

VOTE 4 BRAD

"What's this?" said Sarah, the smart intern, as she surveyed it all. "Since when is Brad running for office?"

"He's not," said Zach, the silly intern. "That's why this is so brilliant."

"I don't follow."

"The Boundaries We Cross, Brad's thrilling new novel, comes out on November 5—which just so happens to be election day," Zach explained. "Now, we could shy away from that and be nonpareil."

"We could be a decorative confection?" asked Maggie, the clueless intern.

Peter, the slothful intern, lifted his head from a nearby desk and interjected: "He means nonpartisan."

"Yeah, nonpartisan. I keep doing that," Zach said, shaking his head. "Anyway, as I was saying, we could shy away from it, or we could embrace it. Brad can be your choice on election day. Instead of tuning in to watch all the coverage, you can tune out and read a great book instead."

"Interesting," Sarah said. "Should I be worried I might actually agree with you?"

"No, that's the best part! This is something, even in our current overheated political environment, that everyone can get behind," Zach said. "A vote for Brad is a vote for distraction! A vote for escape! A vote against reality! Haven't we all had way too much of that already, what with all the wars, hurricanes, and promos for The Golden Bachelorette?"

Zach pointed toward a camera he had set up. "We're even going to have Brad record a campaign video for social media in the classic style. You know the kind: the one where the candidate is reading from a teleprompter so they're looking at you—but not quite looking at you—in a way that makes you feel somehow uncomfortable."

Well, maybe Zach could be persuaded to skip that part. As it is, the critics are casting their votes, and they've put The Boundaries We Cross at the top of the polls.

Publishers Weekly gave it a coveted starred review, opining: "Parks excels at shaping his characters' voices, with chapters alternating between a desperate Charles and increasingly anxious excerpts from Hayley's journal. Crackling dialogue, vigorous pacing, and a surprisingly fresh angle on well-trod subject matter bolster things further. Readers won't be able to put this down."

Rob Demarco of WPRN Radio gushed, "The Boundaries We Cross is the best new book I've read in years."

(And we have it on good authority that Rob reads a lot of books.)

Highly esteemed New York Times bestselling author Riley Sager called it, "a full-throttle page-turner. Starts at a sprint and doesn't let up until the shocking conclusion."

And Brad's publisher—which may just be biased—has called it, "perfect for fans of Harlan Coben and Jodi Picoult."

But don't take their word for it. This election day, pick it up and see for yourself. Vote for Brad—if only because it's one election day outcome that no one will be able to dispute.

Patriotically yours,
